Kim Schunk, APN is an Advanced Practice Nurse with a Masters Degree from the University of Rochester, specifically in the Family Nurse Practitioner program. She brings with her many years of Family Medicine experience from the Rochester, New York area. She would like to use this knowledge to serve the community of Decatur and the surrounding areas. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. As an FNP Kim can order diagnostic tests, diagnose medical conditions, and prescribe needed medications. If the patient’s particular problem is beyond her expertise she will consult with Dr. Rohde. As a nurse practitioner she has the benefit of being able to take the extra time you need for your medical educational needs. The FNP philosophy of care is to treat the whole person and to provide wellness care rather then focusing on a specific illness. Research provides evidence that FNPs provide excellent patient care. Patients who see a nurse practitioner report that they are extremely satisfied with their care.Kim is a committed wife and mother, it is this caring and compassion she brings to provide exceptional patient care - treating each patient as if they were a family member.
